This section depicts knives which Sarah carries, knives sold by GWL (Gardner Weaponry Limited), and knives created as experiments or prototypes.
Sarah and GWL determined that only certain experiments or prototypes would be broadly sold: 30 cm fighting knives; 20 cm utility knives; 18 cm utility knives; 10 cm skinning knives; Skean Dhu knives; and miltifunction (aka Swiss Army) knives. (All sizes are blade sizes.) In addition, certain knives would be sold only to military organizations: commando knives; stiletto knives; and black or camo knives. Finally, knives with 25 cm knives would not be sold, as they were too long to be good utility knives, but too short to be good fighting knives.
Note: knives which are custom-made by expert bladesmiths have GWL logos in gold or silver; knives which are machine-made have GWL logos in other colours.
Sarah commonly carries four knives: a big fighting knife; a medium utility knife; a small skinning knife; and a tiny multifunction knife (alias a “swiss army knife”) with a small blade and a variety of tools, including a key to unlock the handcuffs she habitually carries. Sarah also sometimes carries other knives, customized just for her, but similar to knives she is trying to sell.
Some GWL knives are based on Sarah’s knives: 1 fighting knives, 2 military knives, 3 utility knives, 4 skinning knives, 5 a skean dhu, and 6 multifunction tools.
All knives have a slight hollow on one front side of the hilt — and many have asymmetric pommels — so that the wielder can tell by feel which side should be to the left.
The scale for the images of knives below is 10 px = 1 cm.

These are the most popular civilian utility knives: 1 a bowie knife with an 18×3.2 cm blade; 2 a bowie knife with an 18×3.6 cm blade which resembles a TZ marine knife, which resembles a T2 KA-Bar; 3 a dagger with a 20×3.2 cm blade; 4 a bowie knife with an 18×3.2 cm blade for small hands; 5 a dagger with an 18×3.2 cm blade; 6 a curved dagger with a 20×3.2 cm blade. They come in a range of hilt colours, though hilts of curved daggers tend to have metallic colours. Some come with sawtooth edges, depending on the wishes of the buyer.

This is the most popular boy scout knife, a bowie knife with an 18×3.6 cm blade. They come in a range of hilt colours.

This is the most popular skinning knife, with an 10×3.3 cm blade, in a range of hilt colours:

The fighting knives are organized in three groups: 1 bowie knives with very large, 40cm (15.75″in) blades; 2 daggers with very large, 36cm (14″in) blades; and 3 bowie knives with large, 25cm (10″in) blades.
Only Sarah carries such a knife. There are five types: one that Sarah customarily carries; two which Sarah tested as fighting knives; a fourth which Sarah uses in practices; and a fifth, gifted by the Queen, which Sarah carries while in the United Kingdom or one of its colonies.
This fighting knife is a very thick, heavy bowie knife, 56.4 cm long. The pommel is gold; the hilt is old ivory (except for the last knife, which is royal blue with a King Edward crown); the guard (shaped like sabrecat tusks, with a knife-sharp forward edge) is gold-coloured steel; the fourth type is cobalt-blue-coloured steel with a midnight blue GWL logo, and has dulled edges and a round ball on the point, to be used in practices; and the fifth type is royal-blue-coloured steel with a gold GWL logo, gifted by Queen Victoria Ⅱ. They are crafted by an expert bladesmith, with hilts by Hunter Fox.
Blade Dimensions: 40 × 6 × 1.75 cm.

Sarah had these knives made for her to determine how good they would be. She discovered that, for her, the one with the 25 cm blade was too short to be a good fighting knife, but too long to be a good utility knife, whereas the two with the 30 cm blades were acceptable fighting knives.
Blade Dimensions: 25 × 4.6 × 1.4 cm; and 30 × 5 × 1.67 cm.

GWL sells the first and second pairs commercially; GWL sells the third pair to military organizations. The second pair is machine-made; the others are crafted by expert bladesmiths.
Blade Dimensions: 25 × 4.2 × 1.2 cm; and 30 × 4.6 × 1.33 (or 0.75) cm.

The military knives are organized in four groups: 1 knives with large, 25 cm (≅ 10″) blades; 2 knives with medium, 18 cm (≅ 7″) blades; 3 stilettos with medium, 18 cm (≅ 7″) blades; and 4 Fairbairn-Sykes knives.
These daggers, based on Applegate-Fairbairn knives, are 41 cm long, some with symmetric, straight-edged blades, and some with asymmetric blades, with the back edge having a serrated, saw-tooth edge. Some blades are narrower.
GWL sells the knives with midnight-blue hilts commercially, and sells the knives which are matte black, or in camouflage patterns, to military organizations. All are crafted by expert bladesmiths.
Medium Blade Dimensions: 25 (≅ 10″) × 4.5 × 1.2 (or 0.65) cm.

Thin Blade Dimensions: 25 (≅ 10″) × 3.5 × 1 (or 0.55) cm.

These daggers, based on Applegate-Fairbairn knives, are 34 cm long, some with symmetric, straight-edged blades, and some with asymmetric blades, with the back edge having a serrated, saw-tooth edge. Some blades are narrower.
GWL sells the knives with midnight-blue hilts commercially, and sells the knives which are matte black, or in camouflage patterns, to military organizations. Sarah especially recommends the last design. All are crafted by expert bladesmiths.
Medium Blade Dimensions: 18 (≅ 7″) × 3.6 × 0.9 (or 0.60) cm.

Thin Blade Dimensions: 18 (≅ 7″) × 2.7 × 0.9 (or 0.60) cm.

Recommended Blade Dimensions: 18 (≅ 7″) × 3.6 × 0.9 (or 0.60) cm.

These are three sizes of commando and commando/utility knives which GWL makes for military organizations. Each size comes in four variants: one with an Applegate-Fairbairn blade, a second with an Applegate-Fairbairn blade with a sawtooth back edge; a third with a bowie blade; and a fourth with a bowie blade with a sawtooth back edge. The grips are identical, adapted from a T2-Israeli Ari B'Lilah knife.
Blade Dimensions: 18 × 3.6 × 1 (or 0.65) cm.

Blade Dimensions: 20 × 4 × 1.1 cm.

Blade Dimensions: 25 × 4.5 × 1.25 cm.

Blade Dimensions: 20 × 4 × 1.1 (0.70) cm.

These stilettos are used by Sarah as letter-openers and for protection. They are 35 cm long, with 20 cm (≅ 8″) blades, with somewhat broad blades to make their tips less breakable. The second pair of knives was gifted by Victoria Ⅱ.
Blade Dimensions: 20 (≅ 8″) × 2.5 × 1 cm.

These stilettos are sold to military organizations. They are 34-36 cm long, with 18-20 cm (≅ 7″-8″) blades. The fourth has a hilt similar to a Fairbairn-Sykes dagger.
Note: the third and fourth stilettos may not be used as utility knives, as the tips might easily break.
Blade Dimensions: 20 (≅ 8″) × 2.5 × 1 cm.

Blade Dimensions: 18 (≅ 7″) × 2.5 × 0.9 cm.

Blade Dimensions: 18 (≅ 7″) × 1.9 × 0.9 cm.

This Fairbairn-Sykes dagger is 31.7 cm long. The entire knife is matte rust-coloured, except for the GWL logo, which is midnight blue. The first dagger has a hilt similar to the historic Fairbairn-Sykes daggers. The second and third daggers, 33.7 cm long, have the standard knurled and unknurled GWL hilts. Note: they are rust-coloured to indicate that GWL will not manufacture them, because the tips break easily, and they can’t be used as utility knives.
Blade Dimensions: 18 (≅ 7″) × 2.5 × 1.6 cm.

Most utility knives are 33 cm long, with blades which are 18 cm (7″ in) long. Blade Dimensions: 18 × 3.6 × 1 (or 0.50) cm.
Sarah’s utility knives (and RCMP utility knives) are longer, wider, and thicker than regular utility knives.
Blade Dimensions: 20 × 4 × 1.2 cm. Sarah’s primary utility knife has a gold pommel, old ivory hilt, a gold-coloured steel guard (shaped like sabrecat tusks, with a knife-sharp forward edge). and a steel blade with a cobalt blue GWL logo. The second knife is the 2015 version.

Alternate utility knife:

For practices, Sarah uses a knife with a cobalt-blue hilt and blade, with dull edges, and with a ball on its point:

While visiting the Queen, visiting the UK, or visiting one of the UK colonies, Sarah carries a knife gifted by the queen with a royal blue hilt and blade:

When dressed in an RCMP uniform, or a RCMP dress uniform, Sarah carries one of these two knives:

When dressed in formal wear for Gardiner Enterprises, Sarah carries one of these three tartan-hilted knives:

When dressed in formal wear for Glenlivet or the Iroquois Confederacy, Sarah carries these tartan-hilted knives:

This is a commando dagger, adapted from a T2-Israeli Ari B'Lilah commando knife. The second was gifted by Victoria Ⅱ. Blade Dimensions: 20 × 4 × 1.2 cm.

GWL sells similar 33½+ cm bowie knives,. They are the most popular knives sold to the general public and to non-élite military units. The knives with gold pommels and gold-coloured guards are to be crafted by expert bladesmiths and sold commercially. The knives with steel pommels and steel-coloured guards are to be machine-made and sold commercially. The knives with steel pommels and steel-coloured guards, with black and graphite knurled hilts with red maple leafs, are to be machine made and sold to the RCMP. The knife with the tartan in the hilt is an RCMP dress knife. The knife with red, green, and white camouflage colours is to be machine made and is very popular amongst hunters. The knives with eagle scout, queens scout, and scout emblems are to be sold commercially to boy and girl scouts. The matte black knives are to be machine made and sold to regular military forces. The knives with camouflage colours are examples of what may be sold to military forces. Note: hilts of other colours are available in special orders. Note: the RCMP knives have 20 cm (≅ 8″) blades; two RCMP knives have longer and thicker hilts, for Sarah’s dad’s and brother’s large hands.
Blade Dimensions: 18 × 3.6 × 1 (or 0.50) cm. RCMP Blade Dimensions: 20 × 4 × 1.2 (or 0.60) cm.

Curved knives are preferred in Moslem countries, and in non-Moslem countries which are influenced by Moslem countries.
For example:

Skinning knives are 23 cm long, with 10 cm (4″ in) blades. They have tiny guards and rounded points. Blade Dimensions: 10 × 3.2 × 0.9 cm.
Sarah’s small skinning knife has a gold pommel, old ivory hilt, a gold-coloured steel guard, and a steel blade. The knife with a royal blue hilt and blade is gifted by Queen Victoria Ⅱ.

GWL sells similar knives. They are the same as Sarah’s knife, except that they have midnight blue G-10 hilts, and the one with a steel-coloured pommel and guard is less hardy (and much less costly).

GWL sells several skean dhus, with longer blades than usual, and with double-edged blades rather than the usual single-edged blades; skean dhus will be custom made on request, at higher prices.
These skean dhus are carried by the RCMP, and by Sarah when she is dressed in RCMP, Glenlivet, or Gordon tartans. Blade Dimensions: 20 × 4 × 1.2 cm.

Sarah’s multifunction tools (in world T2 known as ‘swiss army knives’) come in a variety of sizes, depending on which tools are present. Those crafted for Sarah are ivory-coloured, except for those gifted by Queen Victoria Ⅱ, which are royal blue. Those sold commercially are normally midnight blue, however, they may be sold in other colours or in camouflage patterns on special order.
